A certified peer specialist (CPS) is a trained mental health consumer who supports peers living with a diagnosis at reducing self-stigma, staying motivated to meet goals and managing recovery. Their lived experience in recovery combined with their training allows them to coach peers on how to cope with symptoms and life. The CPS is required to maintain at least 12 continuing education units (CEUs) every year in Georgia. We have CPS-WH professionals that are trained in Whole Health Action Management (WHAM) that utilizes a curriculum to instill healthy lifestyle habits to improve wellness.
Currently, we do not accept health insurance plans. Instead, we work with supportive employment programs and employers to provide our services to help individuals living with a diagnosis go back to work and stay employed.
Living with a brain disorder is complex and has differing outcomes for people. Our programs empower individuals with crisis planning, peer support, and individualized coping tools to stay well and employed. We encourage individuals to use their coping tools to master resiliency. However, we do NOT guarantee immunity from symptoms and/or relapse.
